The Qur'an
In the name of Allah The Most Gracious The Most Merciful.
May the peace and blessings of Allah subahanahu wa ta'aala be upon his last and final messenger(saw)
Asalamu alaykum (Peace be upon you)
What is the Qur'an?
The Qur'an is the unchanged perfect words of Allah Subhanahu wa ta'aala. Revealed to Muhammed(saw) through The Angel Jibreel(as). Revealed 1400 years ago and still available without a letter added or a letter subtracted. The Qur'an contains 114 Surahs or chapters each chapter containing a certain number of ayah or verses. The longest surah in the Qur'an being Suratul Baqara consisting of 286 ayahs and the smallest chapter called suratul Kauthar consisting of 3 ayahs. The Qur'an is translated in many different languages so that people all over the world may get a copy in their preferred language and so that the message may reach every single ethnicity and race. The message of the Qur'an applies to the past, present, and future and it contains true stories from the nations of the past as well as things that go on at this moment in time and the happenings of the future as well.
Allah says in the Holy Qur'an
Surah 7 ayah 5
"For We had certainly sent unto them a Book, based on knowledge, which We
explained in detail,- a guide and a mercy to all who believe."
Surah 38 ayah 87
"This is no less than a Message to (all) the Worlds."
Benefits of reading the Qur'an:
One benefit I'de like to point out is in this hadeeth
As an authentic hadith in At-Tirmithee proves: “Whoever reads a letter from the Book of Allah, he will have a reward. And that reward will be multiplied by ten. I am not saying that “Alif, Laam, Meem” is a letter, rather I am saying that “Alif” is a letter, “laam” is a letter and “meem” is a letter.” So increase your recitation of the Qur’an to gain these merits, and to gain the following merit as well.
